Learn about the detailed history of OTK Printing & Packaging from its founding in 1879 by J.L. Bayer to its significant developments and investments in modern times. We currently employ 330 highly skilled employees and are one of the largest employers in the city of Kolín.

1879 - establishment of the company

The local lithographer Josef Ferdinand Gregor was the founder of the Kolín Commercial Printers. However, you would have searched in vain for the plant at that time under the familiar name of Obchodní tiskárny Kolín. With the granting of the printing concession, the plant was launched on 9 December 1879 under the name of Gregor’s Printing Works. Shortly afterwards, however, on 4 June 1880, Josef Leopold Bayer obtained the concession. Therefore, the company was colloquially called “Bayerka”.

1978 - moving

In 1966, an investment assignment was approved for the construction of a new plant, which was unique in Europe at that time. Construction started in December 1968. In 1976, the builders completed the production part of the new plant andtwo years later the premises, including the administrative part, were approved for permanent operation.

Flexible packaging

Flexible packaging carries information about the brand, composition, and also serves to promote the product. It is made from eco-friendly materials, and its main advantage is the ability to place design or text on up to 100% of the packaging surface, which ensures the product's barrier properties.

Self-adhesive labels

Self-adhesive labels carry information about the brand, ingredients and also serve to promote the product. They are made of eco-friendly materials and can be printed in a variety of formats and designs. The main advantage is the possibility of application on a wide range of treasure materials.

Perimeter labels

IML labels

IML labels carry information about the brand, ingredients and serve to promote the product. The main advantage of IML labels is its subsequent pressing into the plastic packaging, which creates a high barrier against damage to the label.
