OTK GROUP, a.s., succeeded in the 2018 PACKAGING OF THE YEAR competition with its biodegradable packaging of wet tissues Smart Wipes.

In response to today’s fast-paced lifestyle, OTK Group, a.s., in cooperation with a Dutch manufacturer of hygiene products have developed a unique, single-use wet tissues packaging. Quick and convenient use of products becomes a lifestyle. In everyday life, a consumer has no time to think about the separation of packaging. The packaging and the tissue itself now work on the “use & toss“ principle. Thus, a consumer does not need to worry about the negative impact on the environment as the entire product is biodegradable. The packaging is made of corn and starch while the tissue material is bamboo-based.
Every day, people experience a variety of situations. The manufacturer responds to such situations with eight product utilization variants and color differentiation in the packaging, e.g. After Bite Wipe (green), Suntan Wipe (yellow), Deo Wipe for women (pink), Hygiene4Hands (blue), etc.
For the necessity of packaging variability, the product has been printed with digital printing, which allows printing of variable data, patterns and color options according to the various possibilities of product use.
The PACKAGING OF THE YEAR is the only competition on the Czech and Slovak market where the nominated exhibits are evaluated by a jury consisting of professionals in the field. The aim of the competition is to highlight and promote the best ideas, innovations and technologies in the packaging technology. The winning exhibits thus have an open door to the WorldStar competition. Representatives of the award-winning exhibits in the 2018 PACKAGE OF THE YEAR competition will receive their trophies and certificates at the PackSummitconference, which will be held on October 4, 2018, at the conference facilities of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
